Environmental Statement
LPC Group takes its social and environmental responsibilities very seriously and continuously invests in new technologies to reduce waste and its impact on the environment. Below are some of the technologies LPC have invested in to minimise the impact on the environment.
- LPC’s paper mills, PM1 and PM2 have been installed utilising energy efficient motors and drives, each rated to its application.
- Recovering and recycling heat: During the tissue drying process, heat is recovered from what otherwise would be HOT releases to the environment.
- Using ‘lean burn’ tissue drying technology. The boilers and hood burners use high efficiency ‘lean burn’ technology that limits emissions to the environment.
- Using 24% less energy : The U.K. Benchmark for tissue manufacture is 5000kWh Per Tonne – LPC achieves 3800kWh Per Tonne
- Supporting UK government initiatives - LPC is a signatory to the DETR Climate change LEVY Agreement
- In 2001 LPC were presented with the PAPEX Energy and Environment Award, in recognition of their efforts in maximizing plant energy efficiency and reducing impact on the environment.
