FSC Chain of Custody Policy

FSC Chain of Custody Certificate Number : SGS-COC-3042

LPC Group Plc is committed to supporting sustainable forestry and the preservation of the world’s natural forests.

Wood pulp is our prime raw material and one with which we are associated, so we take its origins very seriously.

This commitment is shown through our certification to Forestry Stewardship Council’s FSC-STD-40-004 Chain of Custody Standard.

When we buy pulp and paper we are committed to providing assurance to our customers and the subsequent end-users of the products we produce that by maintaining our FSC Chain of Custody:

  • We know exactly the forest origins of all our pulp and paper we purchase.
  • The company will endeavour to avoid sourcing wood pulp from the following categories:

    a) Illegally harvested wood;
    b) Wood Harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights;
    c) Wood harvested in forests where high conservation values are threatened by management activities;
    d) Wood harvested in forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use;
    e) Wood from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted.

  • We are continuously increasing our share of FSC-certified pulp and paper.
  • All paper mills within the LPC Group Plc will operate to a certified Chain of Custody system.
  • LPC Group Plc will report transparently on wood origins and the share of certified wood pulp.
  • LPC Group Plc will always endeavour to ensure that recycled pulp or paper used within products can be independently verified as coming from post-consumer sources.

Wood pulp and paper procurement is handled by LPC Group Plc Purchasing enabling a high degree of closeness to our main suppliers which gives us a unique insight into the environmental credentials of the wood pulp and paper we buy.

In conjunction with our main retail customers we are committed to ensuring that a full and accurate chain of custody process is maintained from the forest through all stages of procurement, transportation, manufacturing to the sale of the product to the end-user.

In order to ensure that the chain of custody is maintained all suppliers of FSC-certified pulp and suppliers of tissue paper containing FSC-certified pulp and/or reclaimed post-consumer paper shall be required to hold a current FSC Chain of Custody certification.
