The LPC Group has appointed Peter Spencer as its new CEO, and the experienced chief certainly has a clear vision for how to drive forward the UK’s largest independent producer of disposable paper products.
The Leicester based business started as a family enterprise in 1980, but has expanded rapidly over the last few years with revenue expected to be around £300m this year. Spencer’s first aim will be to assess the Group’s operations across Europe and make any changes necessary to maintain the current rate of progress, he comments:
“I’m here to keep this company successful. I’ve worked in the manufacturing sector for over 20 years and I’m used to the pressures of international business. When I saw the opportunities on offer here I wanted in, and I’m glad I’ve been given the chance to take LPC to the next level.”
Spencer boasts an impressive track record in leadership roles, working for companies such as, Ford Motor Company, Danaher’s Gilbarco Veeder-Root division and Teleflex Inc, for which he carried out significant restructuring measures to increase operating efficiency, growth, profit margins and turnover. LPC Group Executive Chairman Amin Tejani is confident Spencer will have a similar impact on the Company he founded with his family:
“We are very happy that Peter has joined our team and we’re sure that he’ll help us both strategically and in our day to day operations. He will be looking into reviewing and improving the systems and processes at LPC so that we can build on our already impressive international capabilities and meet the increasing demands from our customers. We look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship with him.”
Spencer’s previous positions include Group President of Teleflex Automotive (sold to Kongsberg Automotive in 2008), Managing Director of Scotsman Beverage Systems, Chief Executive of electro-mechanical manufacturer Howard Anderson Group and eight years at Ford Motor Company. Peter holds various Engineering and Management qualifications including an MBA and is married with two daughters aged 14 and 17.
